S.L. Bhyrappa talks about how Marxist ideology has influenced the Indian education system and how nationalists have struggled to present an alternative perspective.
S.L. Bhyrappa discusses how the former education minister Nurul Hassan introduced left-leaning ideas into the Indian education system. According to Bhyrappa, Hassan distorted historical facts in mainstream education, and scholars like Romila Thapar and Irfan Habib contributed to this narrative. Bhyrappa asserts that Hassan actively supported these historians through various means. He also emphasizes the impact of national policies, such as the one on National Integration during Indira Gandhi's tenure, on shaping the perspectives of young minds in India. Bhyrappa expresses disappointment in the failure of nationalists to counter the influence of Marxist ideologies and correct the distorted historical narrative. He believes that this oversight has had significant repercussions for India.
